“MAGGIE’S STORY: The Tale of a Modern Magdalene” - The Movie

“Family friendly” faith-based films abound. What’s lacking? Fearless Media Missionaries telling gritty, realistic stories

dealing with unsaved, broken humanity at its lowest; inviting a secular audience to join a relatable protagonist on a

healing journey to Christ, with uncompromisingly raw narratives, powerful original music and life changing

ministries created for, and woven into, each film. Maggie’s Story & Ministry aims to fill that need.

Magdalene “Maggie” Mitchell, 27, is adrift in a shallow, secular world of partying and hook-up culture. After several events decimate her already low self worth, she succumbs to temptation and self destruction, resulting in traumatic sexual assault.   She awakes in the E.R. to nurse Sarah Jacobs, who invites her to a Bible study at New Beginnings Church titled,

“Crossroads: How God Uses Our Pain to Show us Our Path to Healing and Guiding Others.”

As Maggie’s sinful lifestyle starts to reel her back in, she reaches out to Sarah, who teaches her that God’s love is the truest she’ll ever find. Hungry for change, Maggie embraces this with all she’s got and is even invited to sing with the worship band. God moves!

Enemy countermove? Enter Jaime Murphy, Maggie’s longtime crush & lead singer of a local rock band. He asks her to sing with him but rehearsal times conflict with the worship band! Maggie’s focus drifts from falling for Jesus to falling for Jaime, who begins to groom her for the bad-girl rocker role.
Impressing their producer with her new song, “Do It Right”, Maggie is promised fame, fortune & a national tour  -IF- she accepts his lyric changes, rendering her song a trite, pop sex anthem.

Maggie wrestles with the lyric change & old identity expected of her, but to tour with Jaimie and his band band? She’s not yet strong enough to resist this cunningly crafted temptation.

Before leaving, Maggie learns of Sarah's brother, Titus. His USAF ministry rescues trafficked orphans in Columbia. A lightning bolt of conviction sheds light on multiple paths forward. Conflicted, Maggie rides the tour bus, where Jaimie's suitcase falls to the floor, occult items spilling out.

The realization hits: This is not God’s plan for her life, but the distraction from it! She leaves the band, comes back to the worship team, and fully commits her life to Christ with stronger faith & greater obedience to His unfolding will.

Months pass.

Maggie begins writing music, inspired by the Fruits of the Holy Spirit and eventually leads her own Bible study:

“He's The One!- How Finding Jesus as Your Soulmate Will Transform Your Heart Forever.”

Finally, she meets Titus: Strong, handsome, living his life in service to God. And Maggie? Redeemed, transformed, a beautiful new creation in Christ! An action packed sequel picks up a year later, Maggie & Titus married, working together with the Jacobs’ family, building safe houses in Colombia.

In our society of unraveling morals, a fresh look at Mary Magdalene’s redemptive character arc, woven together with music and ministry, could spark a unique branch of revival. Think music driven drama in the style of “A Star is Born”, with subsequent, secular multi-media reach. Maggie’s role also serves as a launchpad for an emerging female Christian talent with a heart for the story.

For all the “Maggies” out there, fatherless orphans at heart, raised on the lies of a feminist society, often unmarried and childless, drowning in a God-less culture… I don’t want to just inspire them with a good movie… I want to provide the right kind of follow up to pull them safely onto Christ’s solid shore.

The Maggie’s Story Ministry starts with the Bible Studies featured in the script, a website with lessons on the Nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit, Christian resources for healing trauma, links to relevant sermons and books, as well as an interactive community support page with options for sharing testimonies & a feature that connects women with female Christian mentors who’ve walked this journey of healing & redemption.

At its core, this Ministry is a blueprint for replicable, land based sanctuaries. The as yet unrealized Christian, evangelical creation of a new kind of ‘Convent’ for a new kind of ‘Nun.’  The time is now.
